The stallion walked through the lush green grass, his head low, but ears up and alert. It didn't smell as if there had been any horses here recently, and he was ready to rest. Traveling could be such a bore, and he was ready to claim a land, and soon after some mares. Kaius raised his head, obsidian eyes searching the area. The waterfall and pool of water that is cascaded into could come in handy during these harsh summer days, and it seemed as if the grass would never die off.
His nostrils flared as the stag took in the sweet scents of the grass, the crispness of the water, and the bitter smell of the old oak trees that were scattered around the meadow. Kaius guessed there weren't many stallions around, because if one hadn't yet claimed this beautiful land, then they were foolish. Glancing around one last time, the stallion pondered his choices.
Kaius hadn't planned on staying, he was merely a passerby, but this place had caught his attention, and he made a snap decision. He would stay, he would prove to other stallions his worth in this world. He would prove to everyone his worth. Rearing up into the air, Kaius let out a loud call, claiming these falls as his own and challenging any to oppose him. Striking out his hooves one last time, he fell back to the earth, landing with a dull thud. Now others would know he was here, and that he wasn't one to mess with.
After a quick lap around the area to make sure his scent was present and check everything out, Kaius grazed for a short time, gaining his energy. He was on a mission now, he had a goal. He would go out and look for other horses to join his herd. Maybe even steal a mare or two from other rival stallions. It wouldn't be easy finding others in this vast land, but horses were sure to cross his path eventually, and Kaius would make his move, quickly and efficiently, just as he liked it.
