Now this was a destination. Adelei had been traveling for what seemed like such a long time, and now she had found a beautiful land to find a new home. To the still young mare, it seemed only a few days ago that she had left her mother and family behind to begin her own journey in life, in search for new adventures. Flicking her cream tail, the bright chestnut fae pranced around in the warmth of the day. Her thin, smooth pillars carried her light body with ease, and there was a light bounce in her step whenever she moved.
Emerald eyes were alight as she settled down a bit, craning her neck to look around. It didn't seem as if there were any others nearby, but Adelei didn't really focus. She was too distracted by the sweet smell of the grass, and so dipped her head and began grazing. The bright sun warmed her chestnut frame, and she was distracted by the sheer excitement of it all. For the first time in her life, Adelei was in charge, she was the one who decided what she would do during the day, and for how long she would stay up at night.
With these thoughts filling her brain, the femme quickly escaped into her own thoughts. Day dreaming of the wondrous adventures she would go on, the interesting horses she would meet, and the amazing things she would witness. Maybe she would even find a stallion that would take her in, and she could have foals of her own. That thought caught her short attention, and the excitement she held seemed to roll off of her in waves, just as the heat seemed visible to the eyes when looking out at the horizon. It was how her brain worked, forever moving, never to stop or pause. So engrossed in her fantasies, Adelei was almost completely unaware of the world and happenings around her. It seemed as if she would never learn to be alert and careful, even when she was in strange and new places.

The large stallion's hooves thudded upon the ground as he walked through his herd land. He had yet to secure any mare, and to be truthful, he was feeling lonely. He constantly was patrolling his boarder to keep out any other studs or trying to claim mares. No one had told him that being a lead stud would be so much work. A sigh escaped from his being as he trudged along. Plus, it was breeding season. He was almost at the point of jumping on a tree and breeding it...
No. The stud straightened his thick neck forward, giving it a good shake. Those thoughts were not allowed. He would not take advantage of a mare like that. He would not allow it. Other studs were not allowed to, so he was not allowed to. Oh, but how he wanted to...
Wait. Was that? It was! A mare! In his land! The stud took off at a canter, his long strides eating the ground between him and this lucky mare. As he got closer he slowed. He didn't want to seem too eager. Calm and collected. Yes, that was it. He slowed to a wonderful trot, his thick banners waving out behind him. Once he saw her, he let out a greeting whinny, announcing his presence. Once closer to her, he stopped, and dipped his head in greeting. 'Tis a beautiful day, m'lady, yet it does not match your beauty. The stud smiled, then continued, his accent clear as he spoke in his deep voice. I be Banquo, leader of these lands. May I be graced with your name?

Completely immersed in her own thoughts and fantasies, the young mare had never even noticed the stallion making his way towards her. When he let out a whinny in greeting, Adelei jumped up. She somehow managed to twist in midair, or at least enough so when she landed, she was facing the owner of the new voice. A quick glance over revealed to the petite chestnut mare that he was very handsome, and as he spoke, a thick accent laced his formal words. Adelei smiled shyly as he complemented her, and she ducked her head in embarrassment. “Thank you,” she answered quietly, her previous curiosity and boldness seemingly gone, or at least hidden. “My name is Adelei. It is nice to meet you, Banquo.”
As the initial shock of another's presence along with the formality of the stallion ebbed, the youthful fae regained a bit of her confidence. She lifted her head slightly higher, although it was still held low, in a more submissive posture. Chromatic green eyes looked up at the stallion with hopefulness, would he be the one to keep her company for a bit? Adelei had to admit, it sounded like a good idea to her. Going on adventures was fun, but it could be lonely. The company of another would please her to no end, and she would be more than willing to accept Banquo with an open heart.
The silence in between greetings was getting to the mare, and she had to force herself to focus. Clearing her throat, she spoke with a much more curios tone in her voice, “Is this your land?” she asked, hoping she hadn't invaded or interrupted anything. Banquo seemed like such a refined and noble horse, he couldn't possibly have been searching for someone like her, could he?

The mare turned quiet once the well built dappled brute spoke. Was something wrong? Was he too forward? No, just flattered. Her voice gave it away, along with her words. A small, comforting smile fell upon the stud's lips, encouraging her not to be afraid. He had found some mare tended to be intimidated by him for some unknown reason. Maybe it was his size? Maybe it was just the fact that he was a stud. Well, either way, they had no reason to worry. He was not going to hurt a mare if he could help it.
Adelei. 'Tis a name that reminds me of a beautiful morning. Quite fitting for a lovely lady such as yourself. His deep Scottish accent made his words even more elegant. He watched as her confidence came back, either from his words or over the initial shock of his arrival. She had seemed quite surprised when he showed up. He was glad she had gotten over it, he hated mares to be scared of him.
The stud nodded his regal head at her question, his darkened locks waving with the motion. Aye, this be my land. 'Tis dubbed Sun Thicket. He probably shouldn't tell her that he was brand new to his whole lead stallion thing, she might not like it. Plus, it would be a hurt to his pride if she left upon finding out that she would possibly be the first mare he had. Well, he might as well ask her to join now, right? there seemed like no better time than the present.
It can be quite lonely here, though... His dark brown eyes looked at her in a serious expression, but still a friendly one. I inquire of you, would you please grace me with your presence here? I would love to have a mare such as yourself within my herd. He waited, frozen almost, waiting to hear her answer. Would she shoot him down, or would she accept. He hoped she accepted, he truly was getting lonely.

The fae's smile widened as Banquo complemented her yet again, but the shyness that had been present before had all but disappeared. The stud seemed genuinely kind and caring, and he seemed true to his words in Adelei's eyes. It was true that she was easily trusting, but she was also a good judge of character, although it may not seem it at first glance.
Deep green eyes watched brightly as the large stallion bowed his head and answered her question. “It seems like a wonderful place,” she said gently. Although the chestnut mare hadn't been in the area long, what she had seen of the Sun Thicket had been absolutely beautiful. The place was absolutely wonderful, with sun shining down at nearly all times of the day, and when night came out, the moon seemed so bright here.
Adelei was shocked at his sudden question. Join a herd? She didn't answer right away, instead pondering the question. Although she had been apart of a small herd when she was young, Adelei never experienced being apart of a formal herd with a lead stallion, and other horses of all different walks of life. Maybe it would be fun to meet others that left there herds too. As she continued to think about it, Adelei began thinking of more positive things than the negative ones.
As the fae dipped her head in thought, flaxen mane falling forward and into her eyes, she thought back to the daydreams she had been fantasizing not too long ago. Would being part of a herd hinder her? She made the decision that it wouldn't, and as she lifted her head again, a smile touched her lips. “I'd be honored to be apart of your herd, Banquo.”
