The cool wind whipped the stag's flaxen banner away from his body, making him look even more regal. His dark, golden pelt seemed a stark contrast in comparison with the dark clouds overhead. A refined cranium turned to gaze up at the sky, obsidian eyes narrowing. There was a storm brewing, and it seemed to be quite a large one. With a snort of indignation, the stud looked out over the land, moving into a slow walk. With head held high, he surveyed his land, glad he had not left the safety of it. If he had left earlier, it was undoubted that he would have been caught in this malicious storm, and would have had to return anyway. Nonetheless, it didn't stop the stallion's mood to change a bit. He had hoped to seek out others who were not yet apart of a herd, and guide them to his.
Damn weather,he thought angrily. Picking up his pace a bit, Kaius moved to the large pool of water that connected the waterfall to the earth, and bent his neck. He lapped at the water, drinking a bit before raising his elegantly shaped skull. His sleek, yet muscled body clearly showed off his Spanish heritage. Kaius' thoughts had moved on from the weather, to seeking out shelter. He knew better than to rely on the trees, and so was forced to search more. After only a few moments, his efforts were rewarded when he noticed a small ledge close to the falls. Moving into a smooth trot, the stag ventured closer to reveal a hidden cave behind the falls. A smirk twisted his maw. Well, he though, it seems it is only at the tree loaded with fruit that the people throw stones. Before moving into the safety of the hidden cavern, Kaius turned, looking out at the horizon one last time. Perhaps if he stayed out just a while longer, until the first raindrops fell, maybe a horse seeking shelter would cross his path. His decision was made just as a large clash of thunder sounded, he would wait.

The muscular figure moved out the land frantically. Thunder followed her through the open estate, summer storms. Summer, what a stupid season to come with, stags making themselves of fools just to get mares on there side. Never being bred though, she had encountered many who've tried, hopefully this summer would be different. Muscles rippled under sorrel painted pelt, worry of stags made her seem childish, silly, pacing around just looking for another place to run and hide.
Deeper into the unknown lands, the smell of the storm weakened as the scent of other caballos grew. A high fall line came into view with a palomino beneath it's gravity. A stallion. Eyes keeled into slits, ears pinned in threat. "Who are you?" I asked, with my skull hovering inches above the ground, a thought that I might be in his land worried me none the less. Pulling my bod backwards in defense, I had no choice but to follow what was coming next.

The weather was getting worse. Thunder continued to boom deafeningly loud across the sky, while flashes of lightning became visible on the horizon. The calm silence had left, a heavy feeling in the air replacing it. Kaius noticed movement on the horizon, and onyx optics focused on another horse, a mare. She called out, and audlits that had been hiding in his wild flaxen banner shot up, twitching anxiously. His refined pistons dug into the earth, carrying his well built bod closer to the mare.
Stopping a few yards away, the stag lifted his defined head, before bowing in respect. When his skull returned to face the mare, he answered her question. “I am called Kaius. It is a pleasure to meet you...but if I may inquire..what is it that you go by?” He regarded her in a kindly manner, his thick accent a bit hard to understand.

"Scarlet, Scarlet Rose." I spoke with ease in reply to the flavored accent. He was obviously of Spanish lines, it showed on his features, long flowing tangles, long stalky legs, everything about him showed proof of his Spanish genes. I thought about how this was going to end, my thoughts were interrupted by the loud beat of thunder. The storm was overwhelming, causing me to act in a unsettled way, pulling my skull into the air, lifting my features to warn the sky to quit itself, then landing back into the same position I endorsed in.
I stared the stag down, showing no mercy. i just wanted to continue my journey to safety, not get into havoc with a unidentified stag, with zero background references. My only task to do now was wait for a reaction.

A smile lifted his features as she uttered her calling, “A lovely name that matches it's lovely owner.” Yes, Kaius tended to be old fashioned and kindly, but it was how he had been raised. The crash of thunder alerted him to how close the storm was getting, and he noticed that similar thoughts must have been running through Scarlet's mind as she looked up to the sky.
“Oh, how rude of me to not offer what I have sooner,” he began in earnest, “would you like to stay here and wait out the storm? There is a hidden cave behind the waterfall, and plenty of room for the both of us to wait out the weather.” He knew the question was filled with brashness, but there was nothing Kaius could do about it. The femme still had the right to accept or decline the offer, and the stag could only presume she didn't want to be without safety when the storm hit.
